IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for efficiently managing technology through the use of tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure components of overall system are managed.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems.
- Performs and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons for small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations.
- Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging network & telecommunications systems and other technologies.
- Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changes.
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated.
- Understands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systems.
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded.
- Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of standards and procedures.
- Communicates effectively in written and verbal form within a large team or departmental setting.
- Applies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, showing enthusiasm and a desire to see Garmin succeed.
- Serves as a mentor to less experienced IT Administrators.
- Provides reliable solutions to problems using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Performs and plans minor version upgrades.
- Uses tools and scripting to manage technology efficiently.
- Makes recommendations for component-level improvements.
- Identifies interdependencies in system and application components.
- Coordinates cross-team non-project changes.
- Participates in roadmap planning for systems or applications.
- Organizes and leads meetings with IT system users.
- Understands and adapts to change effectively.
- Welcomes constructive feedback for improvement.
- Approaches situations with professionalism, even when conflicts arise.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field, OR 2 years relevant experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently.
- Experience in successful technology solution implementation.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting.
- Quality and organization in work documentation.
- Deep and broad understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice.
