Job Description:
IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are well managed.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Recommends approaches based on feasibility
- Continuously develops expertise in current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates effectively regarding system operations and changes
- Ensures compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulations
- Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in a team or departmental setting
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm for company success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions through sound problem-solving, including root cause analysis
- Performs minor version upgrades and recommends component improvements
- Identifies system interdependencies and coordinates cross-team changes
- Participates in system or application roadmap planning
- Leads meetings with IT users
- Adapts well to change and welcomes feedback
- Monitors appropriate security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field, or 2 years relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully
- Strong communication skills in a team environment
- Good work documentation and organization skills
- Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
