Job Description:
IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hours/week)

Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for managing technology efficiently using tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT departments to ensure system components are properly managed.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems.
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for small to large projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Measures feasibility and makes recommendations.
- Continuously develops technical expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies.
- Communicates effectively regarding system operations and changes.
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Understands and manages capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systems.
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded.
- Uses standards and procedures proficiently.
- Communicates effectively in written and verbal forms within a team or department.
- Aligns with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm and a desire for success.
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators.
- Provides reliable solutions using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Plans minor system upgrades.
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient technology management.
- Makes component-level improvement recommendations.
- Identifies system and application interdependencies.
- Coordinates cross-team non-project changes.
- Participates in system or application roadmap planning.
- Organizes and leads meetings with IT system users.
- Adapts well to change and welcomes constructive feedback.
- Handles conflict professionally.
- Monitors appropriate security access levels.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field, or 2 years relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently.
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective work documentation and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice.
