Job summary

Robert Half Technology is recruiting an IT Manager - Mac Environment on a part-time, six-month contract, hybrid in London. You will own the IT function and run a macOS-based estate with Intune, Apple Business Manager, and VPP.

The role requires strong Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SSO, MFA, and CA experience, plus IT support and security/compliance proficiency. Excellent documentation and proactive automation interest are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an internal IT function, ideally in a high-growth company.
• Strong macOS, Intune, and endpoint management expertise.
• Familiarity with Apple Business Manager, VPP, and zero-touch provisioning.
• Proficient in Entra ID, SSO, MFA and Conditional Access.
• Experience with IT support, access management and device lifecycles.
• Understanding of ISO 27001 and IT security/compliance.
• Excellent documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven, proactive with ownership and automation interest.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the existing IT function, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and a structured handover.
• Manage the macOS device estate using Microsoft Intune, including configuration, patching, application deployment and compliance.
• Administer Apple Business Manager and VPP, supporting automated enrolment and zero-touch provisioning.
• Manage Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, licensing and access controls.
• Oversee joiner, mover and leaver processes, including user access and device allocation.
• Manage IT support through Zendesk, including ticket triage, SLAs, escalations and user onboarding/offboarding.
• Maintain IT documentation, runbooks, asset registers and software inventories.
• Support security compliance activities, audit evidence and customer security reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and AI-driven solutions.

Robert Half Technology are working with a growing, venture-backed technology business to recruit an IT Manager - Mac Environment (Part time) on a contract basis for a minimum 6-month contract. Hybrid working - London based.

Role

• Take ownership of the existing IT function, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and a structured handover.

• Manage the macOS device estate using Microsoft Intune, including configuration, patching, application deployment and compliance.

Profile

• Experience managing an internal IT function, ideally within a start-up, scale-up or growing business.

• Strong hands-on experience with macOS, Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.

• Familiarity with Apple Business Manager, VPP and zero-touch provisioning.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SSO, MFA and Conditional Access.

• Experience with IT support, access management, device lifecycles and onboarding/offboarding.

• Understanding of IT security frameworks, compliance and audit requirements, ideally ISO 27001.

• Excellent documentation, troubleshooting and service-delivery skills.

• Proactive and comfortable taking ownership, improving processes and working independently.

• Interest in automation and AI-first ways of working.
