Job summary

National Express Limited is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to maintain and evolve our core infrastructure with a strong focus on AWS cloud services, Cisco networking, and Google Workspace. You will handle 2nd/3rd line support and participate in an on-call rotation to keep systems running smoothly.

The role emphasizes hands-on administration of servers, cloud resources, networking, and collaboration tools, with ITIL-aligned incident/change management to ensure service quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing AWS infrastructure with security best practices.
• Hands-on Cisco switching, routing, VLANs.
• Administer Google Workspace users and security policies.
• Administer Windows Server environments (Linux beneficial).
• 2nd/3rd line support with ITIL Incident/Change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for servers, networking, cloud, and apps.
• Optimize AWS setup: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco devices for high availability.
• Manage user provisioning and policies in Google Workspace.
• Document changes and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our tech operations, maintaining, monitoring, and evolving our core infrastructure with a strong focus on AWS cloud services, Cisco networking, and Google Workspace. What you will actually be doing

• Maintain Core Tech: Provide hands-on support for our servers, networking devices, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.
• Manage AWS Cloud: Support and optimize our Amazon Web Services setup, focusing on EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Keep Networks Running: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers to guarantee high availability and performance.
• Administer Google Workspace: Handle user provisioning, security policies, mail routing, and app integrations across our Google suite.
• Execute Change & Resolve Incidents: Follow ITIL procedures to document change requests, respond to incidents within SLAs, and proactively address system capacity issues.
• Be There When It Counts: Participate in an out-of-hours 24/7 on-call rotation to tackle critical incidents when they arise.

What we need from you

• AWS Experience: 2+ years managing AWS infrastructure with a firm grasp of cloud security and operational best practices.
• Networking Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience with Cisco switching, routing, and VLANs.
• Google Workspace: Experienced in administering Google Workspace
• Operating Systems: Administer and support Windows Server and Windows operating systems (Linux experience beneficial)
• ITIL Operations: 2nd/3rd line support experience backed by a solid understanding of Incident, Request, and Change Management.
• Problem Solving Mindset: Excellent diagnostic skills, clear communication, and the confidence to work under pressure.
• Desirable Extras: Certifications like AWS SysOps, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation, plus any experience with Palo Alto firewalls, SD-WAN, or scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
