Job description

As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, Entra, Networks, and Firewalls.

You will support the infrastructure architecture by providing technical expertise, applying design principles and methodologies to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology. You will evaluate and design solutions tailored to business and customer requirements and help develop the strategic direction. Ensuring that our infrastructure is implemented securely, following guidance from NIST, NCSC, CIS, etc., is essential. You will also ensure all systems are maintained, supported, and compliant with our security certifications. Experience in a similar environment with circa 1000+ users is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic plan for IT infrastructure development that meets business needs and aligns with overall business strategy.

Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improving business processes and performance.

Provide 3rd line support for all infrastructure-related issues, managing internal and external resources for quick and effective resolution.

Support the provision of business-specific solutions, ensuring adherence to standards for service and compliance.

Ensure infrastructure availability and support, including:

• Servers and operating systems
• Messaging - Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Mail Filtering
• Telephony and unified communications
• Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewalls)
• Anti-Virus - Sophos
• Backups - Arcserve
• Databases - SQL
• Printing and File Storage
• Directory management
• Web filtering - Forcepoint
• Service monitoring - PTRG
• Office 365 and Microsoft Entra
• Cloud migrations

Experience Needed

Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles, preferably in an SME environment with circa 1000+ users.

Experience working with or holding ITIL qualifications.

Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE.

Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with ISO27001:2022 standards.

Experience with Windows server cloud migrations.
