Job summary

Birkbeck, University of London is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to maintain PowerShell libraries, identity management, and optimise critical infrastructure. You will support Entra ID, Azure, OCI and M365, with Linux and Windows server administration to underpin teaching, research and administration.

The role reports to the Infrastructure Manager, is open-ended and full-time (35 hours/week) based in London, with a strong emphasis on customer service and collaboration with IT Services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with PowerShell, Identity Management, Linux and Oracle platforms.
• Strong understanding of Windows security standards and Entra ID
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools like PowerShell
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing Identity Management processes
• PowerShell scripts and libraries
• Maintain integration of Entra ID, Azure, OCI and M365 environments
• The design, development, administration and support of complex IT infrastructure systems, including Linux and Windows virtual server administration
• Server host and storage management
• Messaging and associated services, Active Directory and Azure AD within an M365 environment, Cloud services (AWS), scripting and automations
• Collaborate with IT Services to resolve escalated issues and improve team efficiency.
