Overview

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to oversee both on-site networks and cloud-based infrastructures, with a primary focus on hosted active directory services as well as Azure technologies, while remaining versatile enough to incorporate other platforms as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead IT infrastructure projects under guidance from the Deputy IT Director; design, implement, and optimise IT systems to support organisational objectives.
  • Act as a key escalation point for onsite support teams after escalations have been exhausted, providing advanced technical expertise as part of the 3rd line support framework.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues by leveraging technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and collaboration with vendors or external support teams to minimise downtime.
  • Regularly maintain, upgrade, and secure core systems to meet compliance standards and protect against threats.
  • Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and optimise the efficiency and reliability of IT systems.
Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, including Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and cloud services.
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory; desktop and server operating systems; and Microsoft System Management Tools.
  • Solid knowledge of networking technology, topologies, and services.
Working pattern

The role is predominantly based at Merton College and is a Group-wide post. You will need to travel/work from any of STCG campuses as required.
