Overview

Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to oversee both on-site networks and cloud-based infrastructures, with a primary focus on hosted active directory services as well as Azure technologies, while remaining versatile enough to incorporate other platforms as necessary.

As a pivotal member of the organisation's IT infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, and enhancement of IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement. Central to this role is the responsibility for managing IT infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director. This includes the design, implementation, and optimisation of IT systems to support organisational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain and enhance IT systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, robust security, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead IT infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Deputy IT Director, including design, implementation and optimisation of IT systems to support organisational objectives.
  • Act as a key escalation point for on-site support teams after they have exhausted internal resources, providing advanced technical expertise within the 3rd line support framework.
  • Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimise efficiency and reliability of IT systems.
Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in cloud and on-premises backend services, including Azure, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, and other cloud services.
  • Detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, desktop and server operating systems, and Microsoft System Management Tools.
  • Knowledge of Network Technology and Network Topologies and services.
Requirements
  • Proactive, detail-oriented professional with a deep technical skill set and the ability to anticipate challenges.
  • Ability to work as part of a strong team that manages the Group's IT infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel/work from any of STCG Campuses as required (predominantly based at Merton College).
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • As part of due diligence, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Travel & Location

Predominantly based at Merton College; this is a Group Wide Post and you will need to travel/work from any of STCG Campuses as required.
