Job summary

SLS Recruitment Specialising in Further Education is seeking an IT & Digital Skills Trainer to deliver Level 2 IT training and support learners to build confidence and practical skills. The role focuses on inclusive teaching and helping learners progress to employment, apprenticeships or further learning.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with a passion for teaching, mentoring and safeguarding learners' success, with some regional travel as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified teaching certificate (PGCE / CertEd / QTS) or Level 4 teaching qualification.
• Level 3 teaching qualification plus an assessing qualification (candidates may be considered while working towards).
• Strong IT and digital skills with relevant qualifications or industry experience.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to motivate learners and adapt delivery.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner success.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 2 IT and digital skills training.
• Assess learners' existing skills and identify development needs.
• Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor learner attendance, progress, retention and achievement.
• Provide pastoral support, careers guidance and employability advice.
• Maintain accurate learner records and ensure quality and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support learners throughout their training journey.
