Job summary

SLS Recruitment Specialising in Further Education is seeking an IT & Digital Skills Trainer to deliver Level 2 IT training and support learners to build confidence and practical skills. The role focuses on inclusive teaching and helping learners progress to employment, apprenticeships or further learning.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with a passion for teaching, mentoring and safeguarding learners' success, with some regional travel as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified teaching certificate (PGCE / CertEd / QTS) or Level 4 teaching qualification.
• Level 3 teaching qualification plus an assessing qualification (candidates may be considered while working towards).
• Strong IT and digital skills with relevant qualifications or industry experience.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to motivate learners and adapt delivery.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner success.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for regional travel.

We're working with a growing training provider looking for an engaging and motivated IT & Digital Skills Trainer to deliver high-quality Level 2 digital training, supporting learners to build their confidence, develop practical skills and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further learning.

The Role

• Delivering Level 2 IT and digital skills training, including cybersecurity, spreadsheets, programming, networks, IT support, digital graphics and presentations.
• Assessing learners' existing skills, identifying development needs and supporting individual progress.
• Creating an engaging, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
• Monitoring learner attendance, progress, retention and achievement.
• Providing pastoral support, careers guidance and employability advice.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support learners throughout their training journey.

What We're Looking For

• A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, CertEd, QTS or a Level 4 teaching qualification. Alternatively, a Level 3 teaching qualification alongside an assessing qualification. Candidates working towards the required qualifications within their first six months may also be considered.
• Strong IT and digital skills, supported by relevant qualifications and/or industry experience.
• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to motivate learners, adapt delivery methods and provide individual support.
• A commitment to safeguarding, quality teaching and learner success.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car when required, as some regional travel may be necessary.
