Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is recruiting an Employment Specialist to run an IPS programme for people with drug and alcohol issues. Based in Portsmouth with outreach locations and travel to other sites, you will manage a caseload and deliver person-centred support aimed at securing sustainable paid employment.

You will engage employers, provide guidance, and work within a holistic recovery framework. Training in IPS will be provided, and a DBS check is required prior to offer.

Qualifications

• Experience talking to employers and helping people into work.
• Ability to manage and review a caseload and progress pre- and post-employment.
• Ability to build rapport with people affected by substance misuse or similar conditions.
• Inclusive equality and diversity approach at all times.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the IPS approach to help clients gain sustainable paid employment.
• Build relationships with local employers to create job opportunities.
• Support clients in reviewing progress pre- and post-employment.
