Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with interest in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
• Structured development programme with supervision to build autonomous Band 6 competence.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide IPC advice, education and guidance to staff, patients and service users.
• Support teams to assess IPC risks and implement precautions.
• Contribute to IPC surveillance, audits and service evaluation.
• Assist in developing IPC policies and delivering IPC training.
• Analyse IPC information and identify improvement opportunities.
• Stay updated with national IPC guidance and apply it to practice.
• Complete the Band 5 to Band 6 development programme.
