Job summary

SSQ is seeking an ambitious IP & Technology Transactions Lawyer to join its London team. The role focuses on IP, technology, data and commercial aspects of sophisticated corporate transactions and cross-border deals.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to M&A, private equity transactions, due diligence, software agreements, licensing and AI-related matters while working with international clients.

Qualifications

• Strong academics and experience from a leading City, international or US law firm.
• Experience across technology transactions, commercial IP, IT or transactional support would be particularly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Work on IP & technology aspects of M&A and private equity transactions.
• Conduct IP/IT due diligence and draft transaction documents.
• Assist with complex carve-outs and separation arrangements.
• Draft and negotiate software, SaaS and technology agreements.
• Handle IP licensing and commercialisation.
• Support transitional services and outsourcing arrangements.
• Handle data, digital and emerging technology matters including AI.
• Draft strategic commercial agreements and collaborations.

IP & Technology Transactions Lawyer | London | 2-5PQE

We are working with a leading international law firm seeking an ambitious junior associate to join its highly regarded IP & Technology Transactions practice in London.

The team advises on the IP, technology, data and commercial aspects of sophisticated corporate transactions, alongside a broad range of standalone technology and commercial matters. The practice works closely with market-leading private equity and M&A teams on complex, high-value and often cross-border transactions.

The successful associate can expect exposure to matters including:

• IP and technology aspects of M&A and private equity transactions
• IP/IT due diligence and transaction documentation
• Complex carve-outs and separation arrangements
• Software, SaaS and technology agreements
• IP licensing and commercialisation
• Transitional services and outsourcing arrangements
• Data, digital and emerging technology matters, including AI
• Strategic commercial agreements and collaborations

This is an excellent opportunity for a 2PQE+ or more senior lawyer looking to build a specialist transactional practice while remaining closely involved in major corporate deals.

Candidates should have strong academics and relevant experience from a leading City, international or US law firm. Experience across technology transactions, commercial IP, IT or transactional support would be particularly relevant.
