About the role

As an Investment Risk Analyst, you will make a meaningful contribution from the outset. This role offers an excellent opportunity to monitor and oversee investment risk at the pension scheme level through advanced investment risk analytics.

What you will be doing

As a trusted member of the PAIR, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with senior team members on analysis and oversight of scheme risk, including LDI risk
• Assisting with the production and monitoring of risk reports and conducting relevant risk analyses such as market, liquidity, collateral, and counterparty risk
• Providing insights and narratives on investment risk for various forums and committees
• Contributing to mandate and instrument risk modeling
• Developing analytical tools for in-depth risk analysis and enhancing automated reporting and visualization within the Financial Risk team
• Working closely with senior team members and other teams across USSIM to support onboarding of new mandates and instruments
• Managing end-to-end project delivery, including planning, requirements gathering, and testing
• Building relationships with Front Office, IMS, Operations, and the wider organization to improve team effectiveness

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Experience in financial services, with practical experience in technology or a PhD in quantitative finance
• A degree in a STEM-related subject or Quantitative Finance
• Knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, SQL, or PowerBI (flexibility is appreciated)
• Comfort working with data and conducting analyses
• Problem-solving abilities and independence in thought
• An interest in investment risk
• Experience managing projects from start to finish
