Sovereign Network Group is seeking an Investment Managing Director to shape and lead the portfolio strategy for its 86,000 homes. You will drive investment decisions, manage external relationships, and deliver long-term value across public and private partnerships.

Reporting to the Chief Investment & Development Officer, you will optimise capital allocation, lead large-scale programmes, and ensure sustainability, affordability and strong governance across the portfolio.

As we launch our new Corporate Strategy and respond to a rapidly evolving political, economic and regulatory landscape, we are seeking an exceptional leader to join us as Investment Managing Director. As a key strategic leader within SNG, you will be responsible for maximising the performance, value and long-term sustainability of our portfolio of 86,000 homes and associated assets. Reporting to the Chief Investment & Development Officer, you will lead the strategic direction of investment across the portfolio, ensuring capital is deployed effectively to enhance asset performance, improve customer outcomes and deliver lasting organisational value. Acting as custodian of our Strategic Asset Management Strategy, you will lead a sector-leading approach to portfolio optimisation and investment decision-making. Using robust asset intelligence, you will determine the most effective interventions across our homes and communities, balancing reinvestment, retrofit, regeneration, redevelopment, disposal and replacement to ensure every asset contributes to SNG's long-term success. The role carries significant external leadership responsibilities. Working closely with Homes England, the National Housing Bank, the GLA, local authorities, institutional investors and development partners, you will shape funding strategies, secure investment opportunities and build the partnerships required to deliver our ambitions at scale. You will oversee one of the sector's most ambitious investment programmes, including major regeneration projects, large-scale decarbonisation activity and the deployment of substantial public and private investment. Leading a team of directors, you will translate strategy into delivery while helping shape organisational priorities and providing leadership across a complex and evolving operating environment. As champion of SNG's Homes & Place Standard, you will ensure it remains at the heart of investment decision-making, driving consistently high standards across our existing and future homes. You will promote investment that makes our homes more sustainable, more resilient and more affordable to run, while strengthening the communities in which our customers live. Knowledge and Skills required Senior level experience within housing, real estate, investment, infrastructure, or a related sector, with accountability for large-scale asset portfolios and investment programmes. Proven track record of operating at corporate leadership level, shaping and delivering strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Deep expertise in strategic asset management, regeneration, retrofit, and/or development, including large-scale capital decision-making. Strong commercial and financial acumen, including portfolio-level capital allocation, P&L accountability, and risk management across complex investment programmes. Experience structuring and delivering complex funding arrangements, including public funding, partnerships, and ideally equity investment models. Proven experience of leading through senior leaders (Director level), driving alignment, performance, and cultural cohesion across multiple functions. Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at the highest levels across public and private sectors. Strong governance and risk management capability, particularly in high-value, publicly accountable environments. High personal credibility, integrity, and commitment to organisational culture and values. Experience leading sector-leading strategic asset management or transformation programmes.
