Role Description

We are seeking to appoint an Investment Analyst within the front office Credit team, supporting various activities within AlphaReal’s business with a focus on the Group’s long income activities.The Analyst will work closely with teams across the business including origination, capital raising, asset management, portfolio/fund management and commercial real estate debt, contributing to decision-making processes and investment strategies.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Credit analysis of new transactions and existing exposures including assigning credit/investment ratings and attending tenant and / or borrower meetings
• Support the origination team in the pricing of new transactions, liaising with clients and preparing Investment Committee papers
• Take ownership of a portfolio of credits and contribute towards the associated sector research as required
• Use financial models to support credit analysis as well as the development of financial structures, fund models, valuations, sensitivity and scenario analysis
• Support the Client Solutions team in business development as required
• Assist with investment reporting – produce factsheets and draft responses to ad hoc investor requests
• Liaise with and coordinate relevant advice from Alpha’s specialist legal, regulatory and financial advisers
• Other ad hoc tasks and projects

This is a commercially focused role and the candidate is expected to manage a diverse range of responsibilities as well as effectively work with a number of teams within the Organisation.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Knowledge of the real estate market and experience with property valuations, preferably RICS qualified or equivalent
• Credit analysis experience with ability to readily navigate financial statements and interpret the results is a plus
• Educated to at least degree level, preferably with a professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA, accountancy)
• Self-starter, with ability to work on own initiative without supervision as well as part of a team
• Highly numerate, with financial modelling skills together with high technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Energetic, lateral thinker with an enquiring mind and a commercial approach
• Good communicator and highly articulate (written and oral), with high quality report writing skills
• Teamwork – able to collaborate effectively and work well in a team environment
