Join to apply for the Investment Advisor role at Barclays Business Banking.

As an Investment Advisor (IA), you will collaborate with Relationship Managers in Private Banking, serving as an investment specialist with a deep understanding of our investment offerings. Your focus will be on direct interactions with affluent clients, building relationships to grow a portfolio of investment and discretionary clients. You will research and stay updated on all applicable regulatory requirements and compliance policies, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards to mitigate risks.

To succeed, you should possess these essential skills and qualifications:

  • Industry qualifications to FCA Level 6 and/or CFA, with potential for further qualifications based on business needs.
  • A comprehensive understanding of asset classes such as equities, bonds, alternatives, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
  • Strong knowledge of macroeconomics, portfolio construction, and solutions for implementation, with a preferable understanding of behavioral economics.

Additional valued skills include:

  • Self-motivation and ability to plan and execute client acquisition and relationship strategies.
  • Relevant experience in the affluent investment industry.
  • Effective presentation skills to showcase our investment propositions.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues globally to provide holistic banking services.

The role may involve assessment on critical skills such as risk management, change management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital skills. The office location is at 1 Churchill Place, London.

This position is classified as a Certified role under PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority regulations, requiring mandatory regulatory qualifications.
