UKRN is seeking an experienced Investigation Manager to lead a team of Investigators, Lawyers or Case Workers in our hybrid offices in Birmingham, Cardiff and London. You will oversee case intake, allocation, and escalation while ensuring regulatory standards and timely outcomes.
The role sits within the General Investigations Team and involves coordinating across AERT and enforcement pathways, analysing information, obtaining evidence, and supporting enforcement actions where appropriate.
Are you an excellent leader who has experience of managing a team of Investigators, Lawyers or Case Workers within another Regulator, a Law Firm or similar organisation? We are recruiting Investigation Managers in our Birmingham, Cardiff and London offices. These are hybrid full-time roles.
These roles are available in our General Investigations Team.
We receive thousands of reports every year raising allegations of misconduct and regulatory breaches against those we regulate.
AERT consider these reports first and decide whether the SRA should investigate further. They make enquiries and gather any further information we need for our assessment, identify any potential breach of our rules and prioritise high-risk matters. They then consider the strength and quality of the evidence so far and whether the matter is capable of being evidenced. Sometimes we can guide the firm/solicitor to become compliant or change their processes for the future. Taking everything into account, AERT will decide to close the matter or pass it on for a full investigation.
Matters assessed as serious are passed to our Investigation teams. The Investigation teams manage caseloads of varying complexity, across various areas of law. They will analyse detailed information to get to the heart of the matter and identify and promptly obtain a range of documentary evidence, which will usually include legal and financial documents, transactional correspondence and witness statements. The Investigation teams will make use of formal powers to control risk and impose sanctions where the conduct is serious. The most serious cases will result in enforcement action being taken to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
