The Sensitive and Complex Casework Team (SCCT) manages some of the most serious and sensitive cases within the Professional Regulation Directorate. The team plays a critical role in supporting regulatory processes by ensuring that concerns are progressed efficiently, information is handled appropriately and cases are managed in line with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the team gathers information, coordinates enquiries and supports investigations that help the NMC fulfil its public protection responsibilities. The work is varied, fast-paced and often complex, requiring a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering an excellent service to all those involved in the process.
As an Investigation Assistant, you'll provide vital administrative and casework support to help ensure cases progress smoothly and efficiently through the early stages of the fitness to practise process. You'll work closely with Paralegals and Senior Paralegals in supporting a range of activities that contribute directly to fair and effective case progression.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate case records, coordinating enquiries, handling sensitive information and acting as a professional point of contact for a range of stakeholders. Depending on business need, you'll also have the opportunity to manage straightforward screening enquiries and develop your understanding of regulatory investigations.
