Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is recruiting an Inventory Officer to track high value devices, capture receipts, and monitor usage in patient care. The role uses a hand scanner and keyboard input, with on-site work in Radiology from 7am to 6pm, 37.5 hours per week.

You will generate reports to maximise data quality, support clinical teams with stock queries, and help reduce waste and ensure appropriate funding. Interviews planned for 18th/19th November 2026.

Qualifications

• Capturing accurate data on the receipt of new devices into stock and their subsequent use in clinical care.
• Communicating and recording events such as the loss of stock via wastage and where stock is at risk of expiry.
• Assisting the clinical teams with enquiries around device stock and usage and providing them with device-related support.
• Preparing reports and analyses based on device related data.
• The role holder may also be requested to perform other duties as required in accordance with the grade and nature of the post

Job description

The Inventory officer has responsibility for tracking the usage of high value devices, including the receipt of new devices and their subsequent use during patient care.
This is based in the main hospital site and involves use of a hand scanner and keyboard input and requires the post holder to make use of various reports to maximise data quality and completeness.
This role supports the daily operation of the Radiology department and requires on-site attendance between 7am and 6pm (7.5 hours daily/ 37.5 hours weekly).
This role is embedded within a clinical service but also involves regular interaction with the Commercial Analytics team. The information that this role produces are used by the Commercial Analytics team for planning and reporting purposes and helps to reduce waste and ensure appropriate funding.
