Job summary

The Range invites applications for an Inventory Accountant at its Head Office in Plymouth. This role sits at the interface between data and decision-making, delivering in-depth stock analysis to support purchasing and profitability.

You will work with Excel and Power BI to model stock age, trends and discrepancies, partner with buying and supply chain teams, and ensure ROMA data accuracy and UK GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills with the ability to analyse complex data sets and translate insights into actions.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
• Part-qualified accountant (or equivalent) with strong analytical capability.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Produce in-depth analysis of inventory KPIs—stock levels, age, and trends—with clear narratives and recommendations.
• Interpret inventory data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating findings for purchasing and senior stakeholders.
• Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and quantify financial impact to minimise stock losses.
• Build forecasting models in partnership with buying and supply chain teams to shape future purchasing decisions.
• Present insights and recommendations to non-finance audiences to influence decisions.
