Job summary

Penguin Random House UK is seeking an Inventory Controller to join the Publishing Operations team in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will manage stock levels for Print on Demand titles, coordinate stock imports from Group Companies, and support cross-team processes to ensure efficient distribution.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience in inventory or supply chain, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory, stock management, or a similar operational environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with prioritised workload.
• Strong numerical/analytical capability and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory processes for Print on Demand titles.
• Order stock imported from Group Companies.
• Coordinate Local Prints for Group Companies with Sales and Production.
• Monitor inventory reserves and report Out-of-Stock titles.
• Handle Non-Trade inbox and arrange bespoke printings.
• Release customer orders from Order Management System including independent shops and Amazon.
• Maintain price grids for Group Territories.
• Attend meetings and action reprints as needed.
• Run weekly and monthly reports to track information.
• Provide ad hoc team support and cross-skill with Inventory Management colleagues.
• Suggest system improvements and testing across inventory processes.
