Job summary

JD Logistics is seeking an experienced Inventory Team Leader to head daily stock control in the Bedford warehouse, coordinating with Inbound, Outbound, Returns and Operations teams to ensure accuracy and timely cycle counts.

You will lead a team of Inventory Operatives, drive stock-taking activities, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to uphold high inventory standards and compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control, stock management or warehouse operations.
• Team-leading or supervisory experience in a warehouse/logistics environment is preferred.
• Strong counting, reconciliation and inventory accuracy controls.
• Experience using WMS, ERP or warehouse scanning systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily work of the Inventory team, ensuring priorities are clear and deadlines are met.
• Plan and execute cycle counts, stock checks, location audits and stock takes.
• Maintain high inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation between system and physical stock.
• Investigate discrepancies including missing stock, overages, shortages, damaged stock and mislabelling.
• Identify root causes of stock issues and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure timely inventory adjustments with required approvals and evidence.
• Prepare daily and weekly inventory reports detailing counts, discrepancies and risks.
• Support inbound, outbound and returns teams with stock-related queries and system issues.
