Job summary

Lineage Logistics is seeking a Stock Optimisation Clerk for our Holmewood facility. You will work closely with a key customer and Lineage teams to optimise stock, improve efficiency and drive operational performance in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

You will support our growing operation, working closely with our Lineage team and one of our key customers to help optimise stock, improve efficiency and support operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous stock control, inventory or warehouse experience who has a keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity within a fast-paced operation.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 08:00-16:30. Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience, paid monthly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with a key customer to monitor stock, picking activity and operational performance, using data to identify trends, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyse and optimise picking routes, product locations and slotting to improve productivity, reduce unnecessary travel and ensure fast-moving products are easily accessible.
• Review picking methods and processes to improve efficiency, including product grouping, route planning and reducing unnecessary product handling.
• Ensure pallets, totes and equipment are positioned effectively, supporting the marshalling of pallets and smooth day-to-day operations.
• Monitor replenishment requirements to keep forward-pick locations stocked, identify stockouts and coordinate replenishment outside peak periods where possible.
• Investigate and support the resolution of stock discrepancies, with a particular focus on the key customer’s stock, while assisting with wider discrepancies where required.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse, operational and customer teams to implement continuous improvements, maintain accurate records and ensure all company, regulatory and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in stock control, inventory, warehouse operations or a similar environment.
• Experience in stock optimisation or picking operations would be advantageous, but food industry experience is not essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when working with stock information and operational data.
• Computer literate and confident using Microsoft packages, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• A proactive and adaptable team player who can work independently, manage changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
