Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Chief Cardiac Physiologist (Invasive) to lead pacemaker and ICD implant procedures and follow‑up clinics. The role emphasizes independent pacing and basic angiography within an experienced team.

The post requires HCPC registration, a BSc in Clinical Physiology, and ongoing postgraduate development (BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA). Band 6 or 7 depending on experience, visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a cardiac physiologist or scientist is required.
• BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
• Progress toward BHRS, IBHRE or EHRA postgraduate education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pacemaker and ICD implantation procedures, attending implants.
• Analyse device–patient interaction during implants.
• Report electrode positions to the implanting physician.
• Run implantable device follow‑up clinics using dedicated programmers.
• Undertake device follow‑ups and home monitoring reviews.
• Write clinic reports.
