St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy in Scunthorpe is seeking an Academic Intervention Coordinator for Literacy to support pupils aged 11-16. You will deliver targeted literacy interventions and work with teachers to raise attainment, focusing mainly on Key Stage 3 with scope for KS4 support.

The role is 35 hours per week, term-time only, commencing November 2026. You will help students overcome learning barriers, build confidence, and develop literacy skills to succeed in and beyond the

About this Role

At St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Academic Intervention Coordinator for Literacy to make a lasting impact on the lives of our students. This is a rewarding role for someone who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full academic potential.

Working closely with students aged 11-16, you will provide targeted literacy intervention and academic support for learners who need additional help to reach their target grades. Through your encouragement, expertise and commitment, you will help students develop the skills they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.

You will thrive in a nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported. Your ability to motivate, engage and inspire young people will play a vital role in raising attainment and transforming outcomes.

This role will primarily focus on Key Stage 3 students, with opportunities to support learners across Key Stage 4 when required. No two days will be the same as you work flexibly with students of varying abilities, helping them develop the confidence and literacy skills needed for future success.
