Job summary

St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy in Scunthorpe is seeking an Academic Intervention Coordinator for Literacy. You will deliver targeted literacy support to students aged 11-16, focusing on KS3 with potential KS4 involvement, helping learners improve to reach target grades and build confidence.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, term-time only, commencing in November 2026. You will join a nurturing school community committed to professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

• Candidates will provide targeted literacy intervention and academic support for learners who need additional help to reach target grades.
• Role focuses on Key Stage 3 with potential KS4 support as required.
• Ability to motivate, engage and inspire young people to improve attainment.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and motivate students to engage confidently with their learning.
• Work closely with teachers to deliver effective literacy and academic intervention programmes.
• Support the planning, preparation and delivery of targeted intervention strategies.

• Promote students' wellbeing, confidence and personal development.
• Monitor the impact of interventions and contribute to raising achievement across the school.
• Play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
