You will work closely with the UK Sales Manager, receive mentoring, and progress towards managing your own customer base as the business expands.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Internal Sales Executive to join a well-established and financially stable manufacturing business based in Batley.

The position has been created following the successful winning of a significant new contract, making this an exciting time to join a growing business with an established international customer base and operations across multiple countries.

This is an office-based role working closely with the UK Sales Manager, with full mentoring and support provided. The successful candidate will initially provide a combination of internal sales and administrative support, developing into a position where they will have responsibility for their own portfolio of customers.

The Role

The role will involve a mixture of customer contact, sales administration and business development. Initially, the focus will be on building relationships, supporting the wider sales team and bringing opportunities through to the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Contacting existing and prospective customers by telephone to discuss requirements, parts and products
• Following up enquiries and identifying opportunities for further business
• Booking meetings and appointments for the Sales Manager
• Re-engaging with lapsed customers and developing new business opportunities
• Supporting the Sales Manager with bringing new jobs and enquiries into the business
• Providing general sales and administrative support
• Producing and updating stock reports
• Maintaining accurate customer and sales information
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are progressed efficiently
• Developing strong relationships with customers across the UK and internationally
• Working closely with the UK Sales Manager and learning the products, customers and sales process
• Progressing towards managing and developing an own customer base

About You

The company is open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds. Previous internal sales experience would be advantageous, but personality, communication skills and the desire to develop a career in sales are equally important.

You will ideally be:

• Confident and comfortable speaking to customers over the telephone
• Commercially minded with a genuine interest in sales
• Organised and able to manage multiple enquiries and priorities
• Professional and confident when dealing with customers
• Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to learn
• Comfortable working in a fully office-based environment
• Someone who enjoys building relationships and developing new business
• A strong team player who is happy to learn from an experienced Sales Manager
