Job summary

MacGregor Industrial Supplies in Inverness is seeking an Internal Sales candidate with a catering or hospitality background to join the Catering & Hygiene team. Use industry knowledge to help customers find the right products and solutions, with a move into a customer-focused sales career and more regular working hours.

You don’t necessarily need sales experience; hands-on catering/hospitality experience and customer-facing skills are what we’re after.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our Internal Sales team, you’ll use your understanding of the catering and hospitality sector to help customers find the right products and solutions.

Your role will include:

• Speaking with customers by phone, email and in person
• Understanding their requirements and recommending appropriate products
• Preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities
• Processing orders accurately and efficiently
• Building relationships with existing customers
• Proactively identifying opportunities to grow sales
• Developing new business within the Catering & Hygiene market
• Working closely with our Category and External Sales teams
• Learning and developing your knowledge across our extensive product range

Who we’re looking for

You don’t necessarily need previous sales experience.

What’s more important is that you have hands-on experience within catering or hospitality and understand the demands our customers face.

You might currently be a Chef, Kitchen Manager, Catering Manager, Restaurant Manager, Hotel Supervisor, Front of House Manager or working in another hospitality role and be ready to take your career in a new direction.

You’ll need to be confident speaking with people, commercially minded, organised and keen to learn.
