Job summary

National Grid plc is hiring an Internal Communications Specialist on a 6-month FTC to shape and deliver engaging messages that connect colleagues to our strategy, priorities and culture. You’ll create multi‑channel content, support leaders and partner across Electricity Transmission during a period of change.

This hybrid role is based in Warwick, with the option to work from home. The successful candidate will have strong writing, storytelling and stakeholder skills and be adept at using Viva

Qualifications

• Experience developing colleague communication strategies.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
• Experience creating content across digital, social, print and web.
• Knowledge of Viva Engage and intranet channels.
• Experience supporting senior leaders with comms planning.
• Strong stakeholder management within a large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and measure colleague communication plans aligned with priorities.
• Create multi‑channel content including articles, blogs, intranet content, posts, presentations and events.
• Bring National Grid's purpose and values to life through storytelling.
• Partner with Electricity Transmission stakeholders to meet communication needs.
• Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and Media on emerging issues and announcements.
• Manage content calendars and ensure timely, coordinated messaging.
• Support leadership communications, town halls and forums.
• Measure effectiveness and use insights to improve engagement.
• Contribute to campaigns supporting organisational change.
