ARAG plc in Bristol seeks a Senior Internal Audit Manager to drive end-to-end internal audits, lead a dedicated audit team and support the Head of Internal Audit. You will deliver high-quality audit work aligned with Global Internal Audit Standards and ARAG internal frameworks, while coaching staff and ensuring on-time delivery.
The role involves hands-on delivery of audit planning, testing and reporting, building strong senior stakeholder relationships, and helping evolve the internal audit
Senior Internal Audit Manager is a key role, supporting the Head of Internal Audit in the leadership of the ARAG UK Internal Audit function. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a number of internal audits across ARAG UK, contributing to the leadership of the Internal Audit function and deputising for the Head of Internal Audit as required. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of audits, directing and coaching team members and undertaking quality reviews of their work to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality audit work and reports in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards and ARAG Internal Audit frameworks. However, this is a hands-on role, so you will also be involved in the delivery and personally undertake elements of audit planning, testing or reporting where required. You will also contribute to the leadership of the function, including by building strong relationships with a range of senior stakeholders, helping develop the risk-based internal audit plan, line-managing assigned audit team members and supporting the continued evolution of audit capabilities within the team.
We're actively seeking candidates who can demonstrate significant experience in managing and leading teams through risk-based internal audits, ideally in a UK regulated insurance or financial services company. You will have an Internal Audit (e.g. CIA) or other relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, etc.) and a good understanding of both current internal audit good practices, including the Global Internal Audit Standards and their practical application, and of the UK insurance industry and regulations. You'll be able to showcase strong risk-assessment and professional judgement, as well as excellent communication and relationship management skills with all levels of management. You will be able to demonstrate that you are able to use these skills to challenge appropriately and deliver difficult messages persuasively.
