ARAG UK, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Internal Audit Manager to join our Internal Audit team, based in our modern office near Temple Meads station in central Bristol.
Internal Audit sits at the heart of ARAG UK: we work with colleagues across the business, providing independent assurance, constructive challenge and practical insight to help them understand what is working well, where risks are emerging, and how things can be improved. Our work provides the Board and senior management with confidence that the business is being run effectively and safely, ultimately helping ARAG deliver access to justice for all.
Senior Internal Audit Manager is a key role, supporting the Head of Internal Audit in the leadership of the ARAG UK Internal Audit function. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a number of internal audits across ARAG UK, contributing to the leadership of the Internal Audit function and deputising for the Head of Internal Audit as required. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of audits, directing and coaching team members and undertaking quality reviews of their work to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality audit work and reports in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards and ARAG Internal Audit frameworks. However, this is a hands-on role, so you will also be involved in the delivery and personally undertake elements of audit planning, testing or reporting where required.
You will also contribute to the leadership of the function, including by building strong relationships with a range of senior stakeholders, helping develop the risk-based internal audit plan, line-managing assigned audit team members and supporting the continued evolution of audit capabilities within the team.
We’re actively seeking candidates who can demonstrate significant experience in managing and leading teams through risk-based internal audits, ideally in a UK regulated insurance or financial services company. You will have an Internal Audit (e.g. CIA) or other relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, etc.) and a good understanding of both current internal audit good practices, including the Global Internal Audit Standards and their practical application, and of the UK insurance industry and regulations.
You’ll be able to showcase strong risk-assessment and professional judgement, as well as excellent communication and relationship management skills with all levels of management. You will be able to demonstrate that you are able to use these skills to challenge appropriately and deliver difficult messages persuasively.
We offer a range of excellent benefits designed to support you and your lifestyle including:
