Job summary

Freightliner is seeking committed train drivers to operate trains in line with Railway Group Standards and Freightliner requirements. You will attend duty ready and ensure safe, compliant traction movements.

You must keep up-to-date with route knowledge, notices and driving rules, adapting to weather and rail conditions while reporting incidents promptly. The role requires valid PTS, CoC, and completion of HABD/assessment courses, with local induction and fire training.

Qualifications

• PTS and regulatory knowledge required.
• CoC awareness and train driving rules.
• Driver assessment and ongoing competence checks.
• Local induction and fire training completed.
• RGS 3251 familiarity.
• Initial HABD examination course completion.

Responsibilities

• Attend and report for duty as directed.
• Safely operate traction and respond to signals.
• Maintain knowledge of routes, notices and driving rules.
• Adjust driving to weather and rail conditions.
• Report safety incidents to the appropriate control.
• Carry out emergency procedures when required.
