Job summary

Morgan McKinley (South West) is seeking an experienced Interim Technical Accountant to support growth and change, focusing on acquisition accounting, consolidation and FRS 102. Hybrid working in Bristol, 3-6 months, competitive daily rate.

You will lead technical accounting across the Group, drive the audit, and act as the main contact for external auditors and lenders. Applicants must be a qualified accountant with strong stakeholder communication and a practical, hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting experience, ideally gained in a complex or acquisitive environment.
• Proven experience with Group consolidations and acquisition accounting.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102.
• Experience working directly with auditors and lenders.
• Must be a qualified accountant.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to operate at senior stakeholder level.
• A hands-on, pragmatic approach and the ability to make an immediate impact.
• Availability to start at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support technical accounting activities across the Group.
• Drive the audit, ensuring robust preparation and delivery.
• Provide expertise across acquisition accounting and consolidation.
• Ensure appropriate application of FRS 102.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
• Work confidently with lenders and other financial stakeholders.
• Support the business through complex accounting and reporting requirements.
• Provide practical, hands-on input to the wider finance function.
