Job summary

NACBA is seeking an Interim Technical Accountant in Bristol for a 3-6 month period with hybrid working. The role focuses on acquisition accounting, consolidation, and FRS 102 compliance, supporting the audit and liaising with external auditors and lenders.

The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting experience in acquisitive environments and be a qualified accountant, ready to start at short notice.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Accounting professional to support the business through a key period of growth and change, including the delivery of their audit.

The role will have a strong focus on acquisition accounting, consolidation and FRS 102, working closely with the wider finance team as well as external auditors and lenders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support technical accounting activities across the Group
• Drive the audit, ensuring robust preparation and delivery
• Provide expertise across acquisition accounting and consolidation
• Ensure appropriate application of FRS 102
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors
• Work confidently with lenders and other financial stakeholders
• Support the business through complex accounting and reporting requirements
• Provide practical, hands-on input to the wider finance function

About you

• Strong technical accounting experience, ideally gained in a complex or acquisitive environment
• Proven experience with Group consolidations and acquisition accounting
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102
• Experience working directly with auditors and lenders
• Must be a qualified accountant
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to operate at senior stakeholder level
• A hands‑on, pragmatic approach and the ability to make an immediate impact
• Availability to start at short notice
