Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a fast-paced e-commerce business in Northamptonshire to recruit an Interim Senior Management Accountant for an initial six-month period. The role is hands-on, requires taking ownership of key finance areas, mentoring a small team and providing reliable support through a busy period.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience with significant relevant exposure.
• Experience at Senior Management Accountant level within an e-commerce business.
• Strong across month-end, management reporting and balance sheet control.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial environment.
• Commercially minded with ability to explain the story behind the numbers.
• Available to start immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process with timely delivery.
• Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Provide variance analysis against budget and forecast.
• Analyse revenue, margins, costs and key business drivers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Work with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight.
• Produce management information and commentary for senior decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and reporting.
• Support wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and project work.
• Assist with year-end and audit requirements as needed.
