Job summary

Sharp Consultancy in the United Kingdom seeks an interim accountant for an initial 6-month period near Yeadon. The role focuses on delivering the MI pack with commentary and analysis, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting VAT and payroll processes.

The successful candidate will join a small team and ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, available to start immediately, with hybrid working and a generous benefits package on offer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of the MI Pack with commentary and analysis, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Onboard new acquisitions, integrate into the MI pack, complete accounts, close old bank accounts and migrate suppliers, NHS income and Direct Debits.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and all VAT compliance reporting to the FC and FD.
• Manage monthly payroll and PAYE, including reconciliations, payroll journal input and pension submissions with the People Team.
• Support year-end statutory accounts processes by providing information to auditors and assisting the FC.

Job description

A highly successful retail business based near Yeadon seeks the help of an accountant for an initial 6-month period.

Key tasks will involve:

• Ensuring delivery of the MI Pack on working day 10 to include commentary and analysis, overseeing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Bringing new acquisitions on board including integration into MI pack, completion accounts, and driving closure of old bank accounts through supporting the migration of suppliers, NHS income and Direct Debits.

• Preparation & submission of VAT returns and all VAT compliance reporting to the FC and FD.

• Payment of monthly payroll and PAYE, including reconciliations, payroll journal input and pension submissions, and working closely with the People Team.

• Significant contributor to the year-end statutory accounts processes by supporting the FC and providing relevant information to the auditors.

To be considered you must be available to start immediately, ideally be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (but someone who is qualified by experience may also be considered) plus be able to work with a small team in a positive manner.
