Job summary

Advanced Engineering in the South West England region seeks an Interim Engineering Project Manager to lead the equipment workstream for a major new food manufacturing facility. The role is hands-on, delivering from specification through to commissioning and handover.

You will manage multiple equipment packages, coordinate with building utilities and M&E infrastructure, and drive performance with suppliers and engineering partners to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex capital equipment projects in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of equipment specification, supplier management, installation and commissioning.
• Excellent project planning, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience; FMCG/automation exposure preferred.

An experienced Engineering Project Manager is required to lead the equipment workstream for a major new food manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on project delivery role, managing multiple equipment packages from initial specification and supplier selection through design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and final operational handover.

• Lead multiple capital equipment projects from concept to completion.
• Manage equipment suppliers, contractors and engineering partners.
• Oversee specifications, technical requirements, budgets, programmes and project risks.
• Coordinate equipment installation with building, utilities and M&E infrastructure.
• Drive supplier performance and resolve technical and delivery challenges.
• Lead commissioning, operational handover and project close-out.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Technical, Health & Safety and wider project teams.

About You

• Proven experience delivering complex capital equipment projects within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of equipment specification, supplier management, installation and commissioning.

• A practical, proactive approach with strong engineering problem-solving ability.

• Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, automation or major factory developments would be advantageous
