Job summary

Recruit4staff is representing an established manufacturing business recruiting an Interim Production Manager to lead a pharmaceutical production area in Wrexham. The role focuses on visual inspection, packing operations, and achieving production targets.

You will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to implement operational strategies, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring cGMP and EHS compliance. 3-month contract with day-rate salary prospects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Production Manager or Interim Production Manager within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong experience in pharmaceutical visual inspection and packing operations.
• Proven management experience leading teams of more than 15 employees, with at least two reporting levels.
• Ability to manage departmental performance, operational budgets, and production objectives.
• Degree-level qualification and/or formal management qualifications.
• Experience managing continuous improvement initiatives within pharmaceutical production.
• Previous experience as an Interim Production Manager overseeing cross-functional operational activities.

Job Role: As an Interim Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a key production area within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, overseeing visual inspection and packing operations. Working closely with senior leadership, Planning, Supply Chain and Engineering, you will develop operational strategies, manage departmental budgets and ensure production targets are achieved. The Interim Production Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives, maintain cGMP and EHS compliance, oversee production documentation and investigations, and ensure preventative maintenance, calibration and validation activities are completed to schedule.

• Strong experience in pharmaceutical visual inspection and packing operations.

Additional Information

• The Interim Production Manager will work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to deliver operational objectives.
• Responsibilities include production planning through the Site Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including development and New Product Introduction (NPI) batches.
• Oversight of production documentation, right-first-time (RFT) performance, deviation investigations and corrective actions.
• Leadership of production teams, including performance appraisals, employee development and performance management.
