Job summary

Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is seeking an Interim Procurement Buyer/Officer to support purchasing activities on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role can be based in London, Stevenage, or Braintree and involves maintaining SAP ByDesign, processing POs, and vendor management.

You will lead end-to-end procurement tenders, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 while collaborating with site stakeholders to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with PCR2015, Procurement Act 2023 and liaising with packaging and raw material suppliers to track lead-times on open orders.
• Experience leading end-to-end tenders and RFQs.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating contract negotiations, to ensure service levels are met with CGT Catapult leadership.
• Experience managing contracts and supplier renewals.

Responsibilities

• Apply procurement policies and promote best practice across the site.
• Create and monitor purchase orders; process requisitions for materials, goods, services on time.
• Support supplier setup and onboarding per policies.
• Maintain the ERP system (SAP ByDesign) and supplier databases.
• Maintain stock trackers and upload weekly on ERP system.
• Coordinate procurement data and ensure timely material delivery for production.
• Lead end-to-end procurement tenders and RFQs.
• Oversee high-value procurements (>£30K) and ensure compliant processes.
• Perform supplier evaluations and risk assessments.
• Support contract renewals and term reviews.
• Collaborate with finance on monthly procurement reporting.
