Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an Interim Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for major infrastructure projects, including substations and transmission & distribution. The role is flexible/hybrid with travel to Newport, Birmingham and other project sites as required.

The contract is 6 months+ with a 40-hour week and outside IR35, offering hands-on procurement leadership, governance development, and strategic supplier partnerships to support ongoing infrastructure delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an Approved Supply Chain and PSL across relevant procurement categories.
• Establish procurement governance, processes and controls to improve compliance and commercial oversight.
• Identify and engage strategic supply chain partners, developing supplier relationships and framework agreements.
• Develop category plans to identify priority suppliers and support procurement decision-making.
• Establish framework agreements and call-off mechanisms to support ongoing project delivery.
• Implement SRM processes and supplier performance monitoring frameworks.
• Work with pre-construction and site delivery teams to embed consistent procurement practices.
• Review and improve existing procurement processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and commercial control.
• Support development of a procurement target operating model aligned with operational requirements.
