Qualifications

Job Description:

Charterhouse Group is a UK based, PE backed, value-added reseller providing a wide range of technology solutions across the Unified Communications, Cyber Security, LAN and Microsoft Teams spaces. The Group operates under two brands, Charterhouse Integrated Solutions and Symity.

As a member of the group reporting team, you will manage the accounting for the mobile telephony business, SG&A accounting and analysis, complete bank reconciliations, own key schedules and support the wider team for month end reporting. Outside month-end, you will be engaged in data/analytical provision for various areas of the business and supporting process improvement initiatives.

This is a rewarding & challenging role that will suit a hands-on, problem-solving & detail focused individual. You will be comfortable with large, often ambiguous data sets and will enjoy tackling issues as they arise. This role will be pivotal in enhancing the internal control environment, downstream processes and the reputation of the finance organisation as a whole while demonstrating a true business partner mentality.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accounting for mobile telephony business (revenue and cost recognition, balance sheet reconciliations) including presenting results to management
  • Maintain key month-end analysis schedules
  • Prepare key balance sheet account reconciliations including bank reconciliations
  • Review and account for SG&A costs within business (prepayment and accrual accounting including balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Prepare and post month-end journals (ad hoc and recurring)
  • Ad hoc reports and duties
  • Support process improvements initiatives
  • Supporting year-end audit process

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualification:

  • Qualified or QBE
  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent Maths and English Grade B and above
  • Experience
  • Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping essential. (accruals accounting, revenue recognition, VAT Accounting)
  • Preparation and posting of accounting journals
  • Preparation and review of management accounts
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns preferred
  • Experience of reviewing and investigating Balance Sheets
  • Experience with managing, interpreting and manipulating large data sets

Program Knowledge: Strong user of Excel (VLookUps and pivot tables)
