About Our Client

Our client is a large children's charity, based in the heart of London.

Job Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts including analysis of key financial and operational performance indicators for timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage adoption contract accounting and budgeting/forecasting.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor bank transactions and supervise sales and purchase ledgers.
• Reconcile investments and other balance sheets as applicable.
• Analyze and manage cash flows regularly.
• Prepare Corporation Tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance and optimization.
• Implement group financial policies and maintain internal controls.
• Guide and train staff in financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare audit schedules, annual statutory accounts, and facilitate annual audits.
• Collaborate on annual budgets and forecasts with Heads of Service.
• Ensure timely receipt and accurate processing of financial data from departments.
• Present financial reports at Group Finance, Audit, Investment committees, and Board meetings.
• Maintain and develop financial processes and systems.
• Lead process and procedure improvements.

Requirements

• Charity accounting experience (4-6 years), with a focus on adoption desirable.
• Experience with local authority funding.
• Contract account management skills.
• VAT returns knowledge.
• Management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow forecasting experience.
• Experience attending and presenting at Trustee/Board meetings.
• Assistance with external audits.
