An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Group Finance team on a maternity contract. Why This Role Matters
This role is vital in supporting the Group Accountant and Interim Group Finance Manager as part of the Group Finance team.Group Finance is responsible for the consolidation of the Christie’s group accounts, overseeing audit and providing senior management with essential corporate support.
How You'll Make an Impact
Key areas you will be regularly involved with include responsibility for accounting of the group holding companies, preparation of the quarterly consolidation, reports and reviews, analysis using packs from group entities, assist with the half year and year end statutory reporting in accordance with FRS102, preparation and submission of statistical returns in compliance with requirements set out by the Office for National Statistics, reconciliation of statutory reporting to management reporting information and preparation of board reporting documents.
You will also be involved with supporting the accounting operations team, responsible for assisting with month end accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of additional analysis packs, handling intercompany accounts and regional office pack submissions, and preparation of statutory accounts.
Additionally there will other ad hoc duties such as requests for additional information, assisting with policy updates and process implementation, or projects such as entity strike off’s, researching historical information, process improvement, and assisting when other team members are on leave.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Ideally ACA/ACCA newly qualified or finalist
Strong understanding of FRS 102 accounting standards
Technical knowledge of IFRS desirable but not essential
Good organisational skills and ability to meet high standards of work
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Effective communicator with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Capable of analysing issues, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with multi-currency consolidations is a plus
Familiarity with Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service (FCCS) or similar systems advantageous
Knowledge of JDE 9.2 ledger system and CCH Accounts Production beneficial but not required
