Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to provide interim support for the monthly payroll of 500+ employees. This role focuses on day-to-day payroll delivery rather than people management, with an initial four-month contract and options for extension.

You will oversee end-to-end monthly payroll, ensure timely, accurate payments, and handle HMRC statutory returns. Experience with iTrent is highly desirable, and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced payroll professional with end-to-end payroll experience in medium to large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory payments and HMRC requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to payroll processing.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to manage payroll queries independently.
• Experience with iTrent payroll software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for 500+ employees.
• Ensure payments are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
• Respond professionally to a wide range of payroll queries.
• Complete statutory returns to HMRC and process payments (maternity, paternity, sick).
• Administer salary sacrifice schemes and employee loan arrangements.
• Maintain payroll accuracy and high levels of customer service.
