Job summary

Personnel Today Awards seeks an experienced Interim HR Advisor / ER Advisor to support an education provider in Cheltenham. This on-site role delivers practical employee relations support to leaders and staff, hitting the ground running with hands-on HR tasks.

You will manage absence, welfare, and casework while advising managers on day-to-day people issues, ensuring policies are applied consistently in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational HR.
• Interim ER/HR Advisor with employee relations casework.
• Pragmatic, approachable and solutions-focused.
• Comfortable working on-site and building relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee relations casework, including absence, return to work interviews and probation reviews.
• Support short and long-term absence management, including welfare contact and fit note monitoring.
• Provide practical guidance to line managers on day-to-day people issues.
• Support low-level case management and informal capability concerns.
• Ensure policies are applied consistently and documentation is maintained.
• Act as a visible HR presence, building trust and identifying emerging issues proactively.
