Job summary

Consult is seeking an Interim Head of Group Reporting for a six-month assignment to lead the group's financial reporting and audit agenda in a high-volume, international manufacturing environment. This role will report to the senior finance leadership and coordinate closely with auditors across the group.

The successful candidate will bring ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, a strong background in financial reporting controls, and at least five years in group finance.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience leading external audits.
• 5+ years of finance experience within a group, multi-entity or international setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead year-end/external audit process and coordinate with auditors.
• Own and deliver group and management reporting requirements.
• Ensure timely month-end and period-end reporting and balance sheet integrity.
• Manage reconciliations, controls and reporting accuracy across the group.
• Support statutory accounts and other regulatory reporting obligations.
• Collaborate with auditors and senior stakeholders on technical accounting matters.
• Review reporting processes and implement improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and wider finance projects as needed.
• Lead and develop a small finance team and liaise with international group finance.

Job description

We are supporting a c.£60m+ turnover, PE-backed manufacturing business with the appointment of an Interim Head of Group Reporting for an initial six-month assignment.

The business operates in a high-volume, operationally complex environment and forms part of a larger international group. The finance function is responsible for supporting a fast-paced business with a strong focus on reporting, controls, audit, forecasting and group requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the year-end / external audit process
• Own group and management reporting deliverables
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and period-end reporting
• Manage balance sheet controls, reconciliations and reporting integrity
• Support statutory accounts and wider financial reporting requirements
• Work with auditors and senior stakeholders to resolve technical accounting queries
• Review existing reporting and control processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support budgeting, forecasting and wider finance projects where required
• Manage and support a small finance team
• Liaise with the wider international group finance function

Candidate profile

• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent preferred
• Strong financial reporting and financial control background
• Demonstrable experience leading an external audit
• Ideally 5+ years' relevant finance experience
• Experience within a group, multi-entity or international business would be advantageous
• Sector background is flexible; manufacturing, ecommerce or operationally complex businesses would be useful but are not essential
• Duration: 6 months
• Working pattern: Ideally 3 days per week onsite, although there may be some flexibility for the right candidate

This would suit an experienced Group Reporting Manager, Head of Group Reporting, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager who can quickly take ownership of the reporting and audit agenda within a fast-paced business.
