Job summary

Cedar is seeking an Interim Head of Group Reporting for a six-month assignment based in Essex/South East with hybrid working (circa 3 days per week onsite). The role pays £550-£650 per day and will lead the group reporting function within a PE-backed manufacturing business with a turnover around £60m+.

The successful candidate will manage year-end and external audits, own group and management reporting, maintain balance sheet integrity, and collaborate with auditors and senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong financial reporting and financial control background.
• Experience leading an external audit.
• 5+ years' relevant finance experience.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within a group, multi-entity or international business advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate year-end/external audit process.
• Own group and management reporting deliverables.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and period-end reporting.
• Manage balance sheet controls, reconciliations and reporting integrity.
• Support statutory accounts and wider financial reporting requirements.
• Work with auditors and senior stakeholders to resolve technical accounting queries.
• Review existing reporting and control processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and wider finance projects where required.
• Manage and support a small finance team.
• Liaise with the wider international group finance function.

Interim Head of Group Reporting

£550-£650 per day 6 months Essex / South East - hybrid, c.3 days per week onsite

We are supporting a c.£60m+ turnover, PE-backed manufacturing business with the appointment of an Interim Head of Group Reporting for an initial six-month assignment.

The business operates in a high-volume, operationally complex environment and forms part of a larger international group. The finance function is responsible for supporting a fast-paced business with a strong focus on reporting, controls, audit, forecasting and group requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the year-end / external audit process
• Own group and management reporting deliverables
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and period-end reporting
• Manage balance sheet controls, reconciliations and reporting integrity
• Support statutory accounts and wider financial reporting requirements
• Work with auditors and senior stakeholders to resolve technical accounting queries
• Review existing reporting and control processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support budgeting, forecasting and wider finance projects where required
• Manage and support a small finance team
• Liaise with the wider international group finance function

Candidate profile

• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent preferred
• Strong financial reporting and financial control background
• Demonstrable experience leading an external audit
• Ideally 5+ years' relevant finance experience
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience within a group, multi-entity or international business would be advantageous
• Sector background is flexible; manufacturing, ecommerce or operationally complex businesses would be useful but are not essential

Assignment details

• Duration: 6 months
• Rate: £550-£650 per day
• Location: Essex / South East
• Working pattern: Ideally 3 days per week onsite, although there may be some flexibility for the right candidate

This would suit an experienced Group Reporting Manager, Head of Group Reporting, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager who can quickly take ownership of the reporting and audit agenda within a fast-paced business.
