A leading charity organization is seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial practices and support strategic decisions. This interim role requires charity finance expertise and involves managing a finance team, ensuring effective communication of financial information, and driving continuous improvement. The position is part-time with remote working flexibility and offers competitive benefits.

Location: Remote working with occasional meetings at the Charity’s Offices (Huxham Barns, Exeter), and on our farm sites in Devon, Gloucestershire, and Pembrokeshire.
Salary: £55,000 per annum pro rata.
Contract: Fixed term (6 months). Flexible part-time, up to 14 hours per week.
Farms for City Children offers children and young people a week in the British countryside staying on one of our farms, engaging in natural food, farming, and country life activities, including sowing, growing, harvesting, caring for livestock, and land management to foster a connection with the natural world.
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the charity’s financial practices, producing robust financial reports and forecasts aligned with the Charities SORP, and providing financial advice to the Chief Executive and Board for strategic decisions. This is an interim position for 6 months, supporting the induction of a new CEO and advising on future financial strategies. The role requires charity finance expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to support routine financial transactions.
